Arboretum Path Dedication
On Wednesday, July 29th, 2015, campus and local officials gathered to celebrate the dedication and opening of the Arboretum Shared Use Path; a new shared use path on the southern end of the University of Kentucky’s campus. Located on the western edge of The Arboretum, the path connects bicyclists and pedestrians from neighborhoods in south Lexington to UK’s campus and downtown. It specifically links Shady Lane to University Court; providing a much needed connection from the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government’s existing bikeway system to campus.
Dignitaries on hand for the dedication included UK President Eli Capilouto, Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, Councilmember Susan Lamb, UK Parking and Transportation Services Director Lance Broeking, UK Sustainability Coordinator Shane Tedder and Arboretum Director Molly Davis.
